Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is by far the most interesting book that I have read in my young life. I was enthralled by the story and it forced me to think about my own life. The clear message of the book is to never give up and don’t let anger or bitterness get in the way of a great life. Unbroken Woman. K likes. Encouraging women to embrace their identities in Christ!       Mary Jane Nealon goes one step deeper, however, in her definition. She uses the word “poetry” in her reflective memoir, Beautiful Unbroken: One Nurse’s Life, due out in August.       Book Review On Unbroken Written by: Laura Hillenbrand The book Unbroken is hands down one of the best books you will ever read in your life time. Well, thats how I . Readers who expect a lot from a book won’t be disappointed by ‘Unbroken’. It successfully crosses multiple nonfiction genres – historical, survival, biographical, and inspirational. It’s a fitting tribute to its centerpiece, Louie Zamperini, a man whose experiences are so remarkable that he seems to have rolled many lifetimes into one.

Hillenbrand begins the book “in medias res,” or in the middle of things. It is fitting that Hillenbrand borrows a technique from epic poetry. In many ways, she presents a modern-day hero story, one that combines plot elements from both of Homer’s famous epic poems, The Iliad and The Odyssey.
